A Description Of This Annoying Skin Issue Known As Acne

It is time for us to delve into a little biology here so that you can adequately understand how you can deal with this skin problem properly. As we all know, acne is a skin diseases that usually begins in our teenage years and can still afflict us in adulthood. The hair, hair follicle, sebaceous glands and a muscle that is called arrector pili are what come together to be called the pilosebaceous unit of the skin. Now for pimples to arise there are a few conditions that must be present and they include:

Excessive oil (sebum) being secreted by the sebaceous glands
Too much production of skin cells deep inside the tunnel of the hair follicle (these cells have a way of blocking the follicle tunnel and then it becomes a problem for your skin to get rid of them in time).
A tremendous rise in the amount of bacteria that dwells on the skin (Propionibacterium acnes is also called P.acnes bacteria - which is the bacteria that I am referring to).

Now Here Is Why You Would Also Have To Adjust Your Diet In order To Deal With This Skin Problem.

For some years, we have been hearing reports from various skincare experts that there is a direct link between what we eat and how healthy our skin becomes - the one reason why this point of view is quite debatable is because different people have different food triggers. Even with that, there have been some detail studies that have shown that some particular foods actually aggravate breakouts on the skin. So to keep your skin free from pimples, then you only need to understand a few things about nutrition and make the desired change. When it comes to your skin, the popular phrase that says you are what you eat is very true. Your food is what provides the fundamental building blocks for your cells. So what this means that is if your cells are going to function properly, then it is in your best interest that you eat healthy foods always. One other important factor that you must bear in mind is that the fundament cause of acne breakout is hormonal imbalance, so in others words, you have got to be eating the kind of food that helps in keeping your hormones balanced.

1.) Avoid Consuming Dairy Products Frequently

In 2006, a research was conducted here in the U.S by one of the prestigious universities and it was found out that IGF-1 stimulates the production of sebum by the sebaceous glands. In case you are confused on what exactly IGF-1 is, it is Insulin Like Growth Factor and it is an anabolic hormone that is directly needed in growth and development of the body cells. As for Insulin itself, it is a hormone as we all know that helps in regulating the amount of sugar that is in our blood. So when you drink lots of milk frequently, you would be raising the amount of IGF-1 in your blood stream. And it has been previously known that the human IGF-1 is very similar to the cow derived IGF-1.

This is where the correlation to acne breakouts come in - we all have IGF-1 receptors in our body including the sebaceous glands also. So having a large amount of this hormone in our body system stimulates the sebaceous gland to increase its production of sebum (oil) - and as I previously pointed out too much sebum causes more breakouts on your skin.

2.) Lower The Quantity Of High Glycemic Carbs That You Consume

After the previous paragraph talking about milk and dairy products, I am sure you are beginning to comprehend why I said what you eat affects your skin texture. So the basic idea of it all is that you should gradually know what you should eat freely and what you stay away from. When it comes to weight loss, the popular mantra is that you should be eating low amounts of carbs that are low in the Glycemic Index. This Glycemic Index (or GI for short) is the measurement of how quickly the average person's body can convert that particular carbohydrate into blood sugar. So even diabetes patients know this - consuming a huge quantity of foods that are high in GI would simple raise the amount of sugar in the blood stream. The instance this happens, the body reacts by producing insulin to try and push the sugar in the blood cells.

The issue here is that having such high amount of insulin being active in the blood stream causes the sebaceous glands to go into overdrive and begin secreting more sebum than the skin really needs. So if you are serious about reducing the breakouts on your skin, then you need to be careful about how much high GI carbohydrate that you are consuming daily.

Now here is a very short list of foods that I know are high GI foods, there are others but let's start by avoiding these ones for now:

Soda
Bakery Products
White Bread
Pasta
Mashed Potatoes
Dairy products with high sugar (chocolate, milk, ice cream etc)
White Rice

3.) Lower The Quantity Of High-Fat Foods That You Consume

There are so many studies that have shown in details that there is a direct link between saturated fats and higher quantities of androgens in women and men. Androgens are commonly viewed as being male hormones (DHT, Testosterone), however women also have them in their bodies also. Various scientific reports show that these androgens trigger the sebaceous glands to over produce sebum. And since everyone has androgen receptors in their sebaceous glands and also in the cells that are situated in the skin pores, when you consume excess saturated fats you are only prompting your body to produce more androgen and this indirectly means sebum production increases and it leads to more acne breakouts on your body and face!

Recent studies have also shown that the sebaceous gland produces more inflammatory chemicals when you take more Omega 6 fatty acids. I am sure you might feel this is contradictory to what we previously know about the benefits of Omega 6 fatty acids; however the researches are all very scientific. So if you are an acne sufferer for now, you might have to stay away from foods like: soybean, corn, safflower and sunflower oils that are high in Omega 6 fatty acids. I am not asking you to completely remove Omega 6 fatty acids completely from your diet, I am only saying since we know they can trigger breakouts, it is sensible that you try reducing them.

4.) Avoid Those High AGE Foods!

AGE - this one sounds like some high fancy acronym. It simple means Advanced Glycation End products. And this just refers to foods that are cooked at high temperature without water in them. There are some chemicals that are released into foods that are cooked at high temperatures without moisture. And it has been discovered that AGE foods cause oxidative stress and inflammation of the cells. And from our previous knowledge, we know that acne is an inflammatory condition. So in putting 1 and 2 together we can see that it makes good sense to poach, boil, steam, stew or even slow cook your foods just to ensure that water is inside them. So if you really want to prevent pimples breakouts on your skin, then lower the amount of oxidative stress and inflammation in your body - it is as simple as that!

Being able to combat acne is about knowing your body system and moving away from the kinds of food that have the ability to trigger breakouts on your skin. You are fully aware about dairy products, high glycemic index foods, high saturated fats foods and AGE foods. So all you need to do is reduce the quantity of these foods that you consume - you don't even need to eliminate them completely!

Anything worth achieving takes dedication and patience to make it work. You need to heed to the instructions in this article if you want a smooth and acne-free skin. It is not that hard! For example if you want to reduce your milk consumption, you can always go for coconut and almond milk which are just as delicious. This is the kind of compromises you might have to make if you want a beautiful, smooth, radiant and clear skin.

Once the acne goes away, the scars stay behind! This is a very stubborn problem, however using a natural skin lightener like Illuminatural 6i can help wipe away acne scars, dark spots and other kinds of blemishes. This product is made from plant extracts, which means it safe and it is also gentle on your skin.
